In awe of your creative abilities

Where is the path of greatness.png(Pyramid of Greatness, Janne Piiroinen)

Where is the greatness but in you?

Life as an experience is miracle if we look at the odds.

Then at our present we may not feel that way. Feeling certain way is, because of the evolutionary advantages of conserving strength among other reasons and complexities.

Life is a result of complex process. At least it is complex in comparison what our conscious mind is at times able to handle. At our best even our conscious mind is a miracle. However, hungry, exhausted, stressed and worried? Not quite so.

It takes another almost miracle to create environment where we are at our best. To create that we need other people who understand this.

Of course societies at large are becoming better and better at this, despite of everything. That’s why there is over 7 billion of us today,  more than ever before.

It is illusion that work is over. There is plenty of work for those of us willing to pick up slice of that responsibility which does not belong to them.

To solve problems which have not yet been clearly defined, requires wide range of different skills and above all the one elusive quality that makes us human: creativity.

Creativity is awesome.

What will you create today and how will you share it?

Creativity does not have to wait until tomorrow.

Creativity does not call for perfection.

You might start as a child like level, however do not be embarrassed of that. Think of Picasso, who tried lifetime to reach that state again. That is the cycle, irony and cosmic joke of life. We are afraid to begin, yet once we have got up to a speed we desire to return to that state. And it might take decades of masterful effort to be able to call oneself beginner again.

In order to figure out your strengths and creative tendencies, think of something that interests you. Start doing it with low barrier and commit to it for thousand repetitions. Do not judge yourself until you have thousand repetitions behind you. Then start to ask yourself if this is something you would like to continue in longer term.

Committing to something for thousand repetitions is under three years if you do it daily. It might seem like a lot, or a few, depending on your perspective. How about just be present and do something today?

Live Your Purpose and Plan

quest-1565522_640.jpg

Do you have a dream? Have you made the dream into a goal by setting some due dates?

My purpose is good karma, which means trying to live everyday virtuously according to my values so that the after the day I would’ve done more good than harm. This is a bit difficult to assess to be honest, because even with best intentions one can end up causing harm. Knowing this, I try my best to do good and mostly that starts with myself.

My purpose shows in daily actions as following the vegetarian diet, exercising, writing journal, reading books and meditating. I try to apply it to everything I do and work, this is described as “karma yoga” or yoga of action as described in Bhagavad Gita.

After the important daily actions which I mentioned, I still usually have quite a bit of energy left: this goes to work of serving other people. Usually most of my energy goes to my professional work. After my professional work has been done and the daily actions are done, I do not have much energy left for the day. Usually with the reminder depending on the day I spend with friends, family and finally try to write and publish a blog post. Then there is also perhaps a bit time during the week or perhaps weekend for reflecting and planning for the future and reflecting of the past. Especially life planning and financial planning are perhaps weekly themes that I check, if everything is going as I feel they should.

Even though I feel like I am living a purpose, I feel like I must still have some sort of action plan and vision for life. I’ve vision about better future, where we could succeed together in bigger and more audacious projects such as discovering the potential of the human mind, space travel and exploration.

This requires learning and that’s why I am big advocate of learning: I wish everyone would have the opportunities get the basic schooling to be able to read and write. Then get the access to knowledge through teachers, mentors, and coaches. Internet is important place to learn and share the learning,

Civilization, becoming civilized I think is the answer and that happens through learning. With learning there are few necessary skills such as critical thinking and learning and the abilities to learn and required. Then with reading and language skills, access to knowledge such as teachers, internet and libraries we are finally unlocking the vast potential of human curiosity. I value highly projects such as Wikipedia, Youtube and Khan Academy.

Planning and having this positive desire, does not need to mean to having to attach to this plan or the result. Life is prioritization all the time, it’s not skillful to get attached.

Karma yoga

Your work is your responsibility,
not its result.
Never let the fruits of your actions
be your motive.
Nor give in to inaction.

Set firmly in yourself, do your work,
not attached to anything.
Remain evenminded in success,
and in failure.
Evenmindedness is true yoga.

—Bhagavad Gita, 2.47-49

Yet having a plan, means that you’ve given a thought for the future and when the future meets present, you’ve ore options. At best you’ve a different plans plan a, plan b and so worth and then you can choose the closest options or the hybrid of these plans and continue with that. Planning is proactivity and probabilities. Planning means recognizing risks and working to minimize those risks.

Life is rather short and no one exactly knows how much time we have left. Thus living a mindful, present and happy life with a sense of purpose is a sound piece of advice. Yet what could be more inspiring reason to get up than inspiring vision, that today’s actions do good today, but perhaps tomorrow as well?

Because of the shortness of the life, we have to live the purpose every day. Where we spend most of our time we should stay focused there. Yet we should be aware of the future potentials, plan for different skenarios and be awake to take advantage of them. If we could be even greater service through planning, shouldn’t we take advantage of that?

That’s exactly what I had in my mind today as I broke down my previous cash flow calculations into a more actionable goals. About a year ago as a part of the real estate investment coaching I calculated the following cash flow requirements from assets per month to feel secure, wealthy and rich.

cash flow.png

It’s still holds true I feel. However, as I had these stages thought out, I didn’t have much plan to how to achieve them. I had a bunch of separate ideas hanging around, yet crystal clear action plan or scenarios thought out.

Three scenarios I did manage to write for the near future, that was rather rewarding. Then in regards to this stages, I also considered the potential vehicles. Mostly I’ve come to the conclusion that real estate investing is the way to go, the vehicle of the choice so to speak. What now made these stages now really feel achievable was that I was about to calculate with my conservative numbers how many apartments I would have to own in order to achieve these goals. First earned euro from real estate asset is of course the first step, however now I also know that the first milestone is 13 apartments. This feels very energizing and great to know that it is doable number, although there is a bit of how still remaining: planning helps us to visualize the potential outcomes.

Then it is just up to us to live the life mindfully in the present and enjoy whatever life brings without an attachment!

Happy Way to Get What You Want In Life

positive-2257693_640.jpg

Think for a moment, what it is you want in life? Let’s say next three years. Set an audacious goal.

Isn’t it so that you probably have to face some kind of adversity in order to get that? If it was anything daring, out of your current level of competence, this is definitely case. Audacious goals are audacious and meaningful exactly because they are just beyond our current level of operating.  Does what you what bring happiness or just gratification to you? Make sure to pursue the kind of goal that brings something more lasting than the instant gratification.

Okay now we have an audacious goal in three years, what are you going to do now towards that? Crawling millimeter by millimeter towards the goal is the key to the success as I wrote in the Climb.

Also another trick towards being more productive and getting to your goal even more sure AND feeling happier now is being happy now. Well while of course that won’t happen just because I tell you so, here are some ideas to get a boost in your both present and long term happiness:

  • Giving
  • Sharing
  • Kindness
  • Gratitude
  • Going extra mile to smile

That which we focus upon grows. That’s why I am always looking opportunities to help, give and share. I’ve been writing gratitude’s to my journal, actually anything positive. My favorite addition to my routine this fall to start giving positive feedback, so now I try to use every opportunity to do that as well.

So now you have an audacious goal, that is probably connected to your bigger purpose. Give your daily tasks your everything, you are surely to develop very good at them. Crawl forward and remember to be happy first 🙂

Share your insight

It’s quite late already and it has been a tiring day for me too. Still somehow these excuses are not enough for me to give up the task of writing and sharing something of value that I learned today.

In life we grow wise and most of us are wiser than we think. All kinds of experience, wisdom and knowledge sticks to us, whatever we want it or not. With this being said, most of us have a lot to give, at very least we can give is a different perspective.

Big question is however, how can I help her, him, we or them to succeed?

Most of us can, through small deeds make a big impact in someone else’s day. Small deeds move big mountains. It’s often times the odd bits that matter the most, so feel free to speak your mind and share what you think might be helpful to move forward.

Most importantly you can do this without being asked to.

16 Useful Habits

Because I want to serve better, I’ve to figure out ways to perform better. I thought it might be useful to compile a short list of so far my most useful habits. These are based purely on my personal opinion and subjective experience.

  1. Journaling, because of ease, flexibility and future reference
  2. Mediation, source of gratefulness, gratitude as well as biological basic of winning and chipping away the duality
  3. Forgiveness, only way to get ahead – very closely related with the non-attachment
  4. Courage, action despite of fear is useful thing. So long as we can do something despite of fear, fear will wither away bit by bit, because action creates a connection and connection makes us stronger.
  5. Non-violence.
  6. Regular meals & fixed diet. I spend pretty much zero energy on thinking about food, because I prepare everything before I get hungry. I’ve insanely fast metabolism, so I need to have regular meals.
  7. Awesome sleep & jumping up. I mean if its morning, how about just wake up?
  8. Power naps, they really make the difference. My favorite time is on bus on the way home, I feel like getting three hours worth sleep during 20mins.
  9. Positive self-talk, pat yourself on the back for job well done.
  10. Obsessive note taking, seriously write those ideas down when they occur to you!
  11. Reading, well the article about why we need to read more pretty much sums this up.
  12. Sharing we do not share enough! In fact I still suck at this, but thanks to the internet I am getting better at it.
  13. Believe or not joy can be habit, sort of. I’ve had a positive transform
ation, touch of something godly, as I’ve learned to smile and be joyful. I don’t know how this exactly happened, but apparently I’ve been touched by many enough wonderful people recently who have given me the gift of joy. Thanks to them I’ll get to share this gift with many as well!
  14. This kinds of basic things are the basics of confidence, get them right! It also affects to that how others view us, and therefore that reflects backs to us. Just get the basics right.
  15. Body language. Connected to posture as well, however totally different. Just be aware of what kind of messages you are communicating.
  16. Asking the stupid questions. Most of the time people are too afraid to fail, its totally worth to ask the questions nobody is asking, because that way you’ll learn a lot faster. It’s impossible to stay up to date with all the world’s trends anyway and thus act cool.

What are your useful habits?
